Urban farm stand selling vegetables, fruit, eggs, locally sourced meats, dairy, and pantry goods from a 5-acre regenerative farm open since 1993.
Boggy Creek Farm is a 5-acre urban farm and farm stand operating on a property that dates to 1841, making its farmhouse one of the oldest still-standing homes in the city. Founded in 1992 by Carol Ann Sayle and Larry Butler, the farm opened for business in February 1993 after the couple restored the land and its historic home from foreclosure and disrepair. Our farm stand offers a wide variety of fruits and vegetables grown in fields on-site, alongside BCF eggs, locally produced meats, dairy, breads, coffee, oils, and preserves. Today, Carol Ann's daughter Tracy and grandson Jack carry on the work, keeping the farm stand open Wednesday through Saturday, 8am to 1pm. The farm is also recognized as one of the first urban farms in the United States.
Boggy Creek Farm grows its vegetables and fruits using regenerative, no-till, and sustainable practices with a focus on soil health. The farm raises its own hens and also sources feed for them from a supplier that mills organic, soy-free feed on-site; that supplier's hens enjoy pasture grasses, plants, and insects. Meats and dairy carried in the farm stand are locally produced. Pantry items such as jams and preserves are sourced from small-batch local producers. The farm also carries naturally raised Longhorn beef and a variety of artisan cheeses from local partners.
